History & Facility

RK Pet Ranch was built in 2005 and was designed to ensure the health, safety and comfort of your pet. Our knowledgeable and friendly staff continue to expand their playgroup management skills, their ability to read animal body language, and their individual training techniques through ongoing training workshops and videos. 

In late 2018, the Pet Ranch was purchased by Lonnie Castelli and Talitha (TJ) Appenzeller. Lonnie and TJ had been long time customers of RK Pet Ranch for their own dogs and were honored to carry on RK Pet Ranch's 13 year tradition of caring for your fur babies.

Three years later, Lonnie and TJ were looking to downsize their commitments, but wanted to see the Ranch continue to offer high-quality pet care. Serendipitously, Lonnie answered a plea on Facebook. The Richter family was moving to Steamboat and looking for some land. To make a long story short, Denise and David Richter purchased the property, took over the business, and live onsite with their two daughters and their own growing menagerie.
